Join Link Generations and the Charles E. Smith Life Communities for November’s monthly intergenerational program. Student volunteers will learn basic principles of gerontology, sensitivity training about working with older adults, and skills for leading monthly intergenerational programs. Examples of activities are music, life storytelling, art, games, and help with technology. Students draw on their own interests in these areas to help them feel comfortable working with older adults. This month’s program will be centered around music. Residents and students will play and sing along to their favorite songs while teaching each other about how music has changed through the ages.
