Social isolation and loneliness is a health risk problem for older adults (and for everyone!). These programs focus on “Music Through the Ages.” Come to the Senior Center to share your favorite music and hear what older adults like to listen to. This series of conversations focuses on “Music Through the Ages.” You are welcome to join as many of the sessions as you can\, as long as you are willing to turn on your camera and speak clearly. SUMMARY:Monthly Intergenerational Program at Ring House
DESCRIPTION:Join Link Generations and the Charles E. Smith Life Communities for our first monthly intergenerational program of the new school year. Student volunteers will learn basic principles of gerontology\, sensitivity training about working with older adults\, and skills for leading monthly intergenerational programs. Examples of activities are music\, life-storytelling\, art\, games\, and help with technology. Students draw on their own interests in these areas to help them feel comfortable working with older adults. This month’s program is focused on “Getting to Know You.”
